Curriculum

What You’ll Learn

Graphic Design students obtain skills related to the full design process; including typography, color theory, print and digital layout, and industry-standard software, while also placing an emphasis on effective communication, writing, and critical thinking. Students will receive professional, real-world experiences through classroom service-oriented projects and industry internships.

Available Programs

Bachelor of Arts in Graphic Design

In addition to general education and prerequisite course requirements, Graphic Design majors seeking a Bachelor’s Degree must complete 54 hours of coursework, which includes 15 hours of department core classes, 27 hours focused on graphic design-related courses, and 12 hours focused in marketing and art. To provide you with reality-based experience, an off-campus professional internship in graphic design is also required.

Associate of Arts in Graphic Design*

In addition to 36 hours of general education requirements, Graphic Design majors seeking an Associate’s Degree must complete 30 hours of coursework, which includes 12 hours of department core classes, and 18 hours of graphic design courses. To provide you with reality-based experience, an off-campus professional internship in graphic design is also required.

What You’ll Do

Graphic Design majors will have the necessary skills and knowledge to obtain positions in a variety of design-related professions including:

  • design firms
  • print companies
  • newspapers/magazines
  • marketing companies
  • advertising agencies
  • in-house design for large corporations

Our graduates have gone on to successful careers in print and website design, packaging, design for churches and nonprofit organizations, and freelance design.

 Make an impact for Christ in healthcare.

The Hunt School of Nursing will equip you with the skills and knowledge to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN). Your coursework will focus on clinical competence, therapeutic relationships, and social awareness, while also helping you care for others through the lens of Christian values. You’ll obtain clinical hours in local healthcare agencies, gaining real-world experience while earning your degree.

Curriculum

What You’ll Learn

As a student in the ASN Program, you’ll have opportunities to:

  • Provide compassionate and coordinated care for diverse clients based on respect for client/family preferences, values, and needs.
  • Collaborate effectively with clients, the client’s support persons, and the interdisciplinary team to achieve quality patient care. 
  • Incorporate best practices based on current evidence, patient/family preferences, and values into the delivery of optimal care.
  • Use data to monitor outcomes and improve the quality of patient care.
  • Employ a culture of safety to minimize the risk of harm to patients and providers in a variety of healthcare systems.
  • Use information and technology to communicate, manage knowledge, mitigate error, and support decision-making.
  • Demonstrate professional and ethical behaviors consistent with the standards of practice and regulatory frameworks of the registered nurse.

Available Programs

Associate of Science in Nursing

The Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) is a 2-year, on-campus program, completed over five semesters. This program starts annually in August. You will earn your ASN following the successful completion of 72 credit hours, composed of 42 credit hours of nursing courses. You’ll earn real-world experience through a 120-hour focused client care experience during your last semester. Students that have already completed their general education courses, may be eligible to take additional nursing courses in the Davis RN-BSN program, which will fast-track program requirements for students desiring to complete their BSN. Students who successfully complete the ASN program and pass the NCLEX-RN, may be seamlessly admitted into the Davis RN-BSN program.

Associate of Science in Nursing – Advanced Placement LPN Option

The Advanced Placement LPN option allows licensed LPNs to complete the ASN program in three semesters. This program begins annually in January and is a seated, on-campus program. Students who successfully complete the ASN program and pass the NCLEX-RN, may be seamlessly admitted into the Davis RN-BSN program.

Outcomes

What You’ll Do

After passing your NCLEX-RN, you’ll begin working as a Registered Nurse. You can find employment at hospitals, medical centers, schools, nursing homes, rehab centers, and more. With additional education, you can pursue careers in research or administration or choose to specialize in various nursing fields.
