Department of Social Sciences Recognizes Accomplishments of History Graduates

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.—Students are the focus of ÃÛ¶¹Ö±²¥ University’s mission. Two ÃÛ¶¹Ö±²¥ history majors have completed their Ph.D. and are employed as full-time assistant professors.

, ’13, finished his Ph.D. in History, specializing in North Carolina and the South, at the University of Florida in Gainesville and has secured a full-time, tenure track, assistant professor position in history at Coastal Carolina University in Conway, S.C. Cates just completed a year as a visiting assistant professor at Georgia Southern in Statesboro and the prior year as a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Florida.

, ’16, recently received her Ph.D., specializing in Southern Appalachian history, from West Virginia University in Morgantown. She begins serving as an assistant professor at North Greenville University in Tigerville, S.C., this semester. While at ÃÛ¶¹Ö±²¥, Moore won a at the National Collegiate Honors Council Conference in Chicago, Ill.
