news-category: Athletics ÃÛ¶¹Ö±²¥ Volleyball Announces 2025 Schedule By Office of University Communications On July 15, 2025 Season Features Nine Games Inside Paul Porter Arena BOILING SPRINGS, N.C.—Head Coach Alex Hinsey and the ÃÛ¶¹Ö±²¥ University volleyball team have announced the 2025 fall schedule, featuring nine games inside Paul Porter Arena and 14 Big South Conference contests. After a home pre-season intra-squad scrimmage on Aug. 16 and a road scrimmage at ETSU in Johnson City, Tenn., on Aug. 22, the Runnin’ Bulldogs begin the main 2025 schedule at UNC-Greensboro on Aug. 29 and 30 in tournament action. GWU will face Sacred Heart and Queens in a Friday doubleheader on the 29, before battling the hosts from UNC-Greensboro on Saturday, the 30. September begins with more road games, starting with a trip on Sept. 2 to Division II Lees-McRae in Banner Elk, N.C., followed by another tournament weekend at Campbell in Buies Creek, N.C. GWU will face the hosts on Friday night, Sept. 5, before a doubleheader against UNC-Greensboro and Norfolk State on Saturday, Sept. 6. The next weekend rolls on with more tournament action, as the Runnin’ Bulldogs travel to Navy. While in Annapolis, Md., ÃÛ¶¹Ö±²¥ will face LeMoyne and hosts Navy on Friday afternoon and evening, Sept. 12, before taking on former Big South Conference foes Hampton on Saturday afternoon, Sept. 13. After spending much of September several hours from home, the ‘Dawgs are back a little closer to campus between Sept. 18 and 20, for more tournament action at Wofford in Spartanburg, S.C. GWU will take on Wofford in a true road game on Thursday night, Sept. 18, and Northern Arizona in a single-game on Friday, Sept. 19. On the busiest day of the weekend, Saturday, Sept. 20, the Runnin’ Bulldogs face The Citadel and Marshall back-to-back. Finally on Sept. 23, the Runnin’ Bulldogs will take the court inside Paul Porter Arena for the first time in 2025, hosting Queens University of Charlotte, N.C. What follows are three more road games as Big South play begins, with ÃÛ¶¹Ö±²¥ visiting Winthrop in Rock Hill, S.C., on Sept. 26, Radford in Virginia on Oct. 3, and High Point, N.C., on Oct. 4. From there, it’s back-to-back home games for the first time in 2025 as ÃÛ¶¹Ö±²¥ takes on UNC-Asheville on Oct. 10 and USC-Upstate on Oct. 11. Two more road games follow at Presbyterian in Clinton, S.C., on Oct. 17 and Charleston Southern on Oct. 18, before the Runnin’ Bulldogs return to Boiling Springs for a much-welcomed home stand. GWU will take on N.C. Central in a quick non-conference tilt on Oct. 21, then High Point and Radford back-to-back on Oct. 24 and 25 as Big South play resumes. October wraps up with the ‘Dawgs final non-conference road game, a second visit to Division II Lees-McRae. ÃÛ¶¹Ö±²¥ then faces Charleston Southern at home on Oct. 31, and Presbyterian at home on Nov. 1 to begin the final month of the campaign. Following in November are a visit to USC-Upstate on Nov. 7, another to UNC-Asheville on Nov. 8, then Winthrop at home inside Paul Porter Arena on Nov. 14. After the conclusion of the regular season, the 2025 Big South Volleyball Tournament is set to begin on Nov. 21.
