category: Recognition Scott Shauf, Ph.D. By 蜜豆直播 University On January 5, 2023 Professor, Department of Religious Studies and Philosophy Dr. Shauf participated in a panel discussion on sacrifice in early Christian worship at the annual conference of the European Academy of Religion at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, June 19-23, 2023. His participation included presenting a paper titled 鈥淪acrifice as the Lynchpin of Early Christian Identity.鈥 Previous Recognition November 2022 Dr. Shauf presented two papers at the annual national meeting of the Society of Biblical Literature in Denver, Colorado, Nov. 18-22, 2022. One was titled 鈥淎mbiguous Longing: Sacrifice in the Jewish and Christian Diasporas鈥 and the other 鈥淓xodus 24 as the Narrative Underpinning of the Synoptic Lord鈥檚 Supper Accounts.鈥 May 2022 Dr. Shauf published a book, Jesus the Sacrifice: A Historical and Theological Study, with Fortress Academic/Lexington Books. This book was the product of his 2020 spring sabbatical. He also presented a paper titled 鈥淲as Jesus鈥 Death Theologically Necessary?鈥 on May 25, 2022, at the annual national meeting of the National Association of Baptist Professors of Religion in Nashville, TN. November 2021 Dr. Shauf presented a paper titled 鈥淩itualizing the Death of Jesus and the Life of the Church鈥 on November 22, 2021, at the annual national meeting of the Society of Biblical Literature in San Antonio, TX.
