category: Recognition Scott Shauf, Ph.D. By 蜜豆直播 University On January 5, 2023 Professor, Department of Religious Studies and Philosophy Dr. Shauf participated in a panel discussion on sacrifice in early Christian worship at the annual conference of the European Academy of Religion at the University of St. Andrews in Scotland, June 19-23, 2023. His participation included presenting a paper titled 鈥淪acrifice as the Lynchpin of Early Christian Identity.鈥� Previous Recognition November 2022 Dr. Shauf presented two papers at the annual national meeting of the Society of Biblical Literature in Denver, Colorado, Nov. 18-22, 2022. One was titled 鈥淎mbiguous Longing: Sacrifice in the Jewish and Christian Diasporas鈥� and the other 鈥淓xodus 24 as the Narrative Underpinning of the Synoptic Lord鈥檚 Supper Accounts.鈥� May 2022 Dr. Shauf published a book, Jesus the Sacrifice: A Historical and Theological Study, with Fortress Academic/Lexington Books. This book was the product of his 2020 spring sabbatical. He also presented a paper titled 鈥淲as Jesus鈥� Death Theologically Necessary?鈥� on May 25, 2022, at the annual national meeting of the National Association of Baptist Professors of Religion in Nashville, TN. November 2021 Dr. Shauf presented a paper titled 鈥淩itualizing the Death of Jesus and the Life of the Church鈥� on November 22, 2021, at the annual national meeting of the Society of Biblical Literature in San Antonio, TX.
