The Master of Physician Assistant Studies meets the basic state educational requirement for initial medical licensure by examination in Alabama.
The Master of Physician Assistant Studies does not meet the basic state educational requirement for initial medical licensure by examination in Alaska.  Additional opioid education is required by the state in the form of one of the following: (1) a 2-hour education course that is NCCPA-approved education, or (2) Category I of AMA-approved education, or (3) Category 1 or 2 of AOA-approved education plus current DEA Registration.

The Master of Physician Assistant Studies does not meet the basic state educational requirement for initial medical licensure by examination in Michigan.  Additional training is required by the state in the following:  (1) one-time training in opioids and controlled substances awareness established by the Board of Pharmacy Controlled Substances Administrative Rules, R 338.3135, and (2) training to identify victims of human trafficking is required for initial licensure that meets the standards of Administrative Rule 338.6103.

The Master of Physician Assistant Studies does not meet the basic state educational requirement for initial medical licensure by examination in  Pennsylvania.  Additional requirements by the state include:  (1) 3-hours of approved training by the Department of Human Services (DHS) on the topic of child abuse recognition and reporting, and (2) complete at least 4-hours of Board-approved education consisting of 2-hours in pain management or the identification of addiction and 2-hours in the practices of prescribing or dispensing of opioids.
